Sorry for the lack of updates. Following another busy few weeks, the A Team are now sitting pretty top of Division 2 with games in hand, the B team are hanging in there in the bottom half of Division 2 and the C Team are just on the periphery of the promotion battle in Division 3. Add to that B Team cup success that takes them to the semi-finals and I think we're looking at a very, very successful season!

Following another busy few weeks, things are still looking great - the A Team are looking like Division 2 toppers following an almost perfect result of 17-1 against Markland Hill and a string of other decisive wins. Cut to Division 3 and the C Team are Division 3 toppers! While the B Team are not making quite as much noise, they're nevertheless looking safe in Division 2. The Leigh Team have only had one more match, an 18-0 victory over PGP A. You can't really ask for any more......Oh, and the cup draws are up for all leagues - please check the Fixtures section for more details.

A busy month for everyone. The A Team vs B Team matches are over, and without violence! Good wins for the A Team (14-4 and 13-5) with some very hard fought matches. The C Team are off to a great start too, with only one lost match out of five (score to be confirmed). Not much to say about the Leigh team, except played one, postponed 4!

Finally everyone team has managed at least one match and each has also chalked up a win. Lots and lots of postponed matches - it looks like lots of teams are struggling for players. Well done everyone and let's hope we can keep up the good work....

The Leigh fixtures are now up too including a lovely first round cup draw against Daten. Matches start this week for the Whitefield A and B Teams - let's hope for as good a season as last year!

We're back in full swing now with the first matches on our doorstep. For anyone that's forgotten, that means we're back to 7pm starts. Hope to see everyone back this week......

Whitefield fixtures for next season are now up - we're still waiting for confirmation of Leigh match dates, however we've supplied the league with a list of preferred dates so hopefully we'll ensure come good club nights through the season.

Just a quick note to remind everyone that the hall will not be available this week - it'll be business as usual on the 20th.

Just a quick note to everyone - sorry it's short notice, but next week (29th June) is cancelled. We've only just heard from the council, but apparently the school needs the hall. This does mean that we can play for an extra week instead though, so our last week will now be July 13th.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that the AGM will be on Monday night at Prestwich Church Institue starting at 8pm. (Venue details here). This is your chance to have your say in the running of the club so it would be good to see as many people there as possible.

Well everything is wrapped up now. The Whitefield A Team finished third in Division 2 narrowly missing out on promotion. The Whitefield B team finished as winners of Division 3 and are therefore promoted, and also finished runners up in the Hughes Cup. The Leigh team have secured their place in Division 1 and finished runners up in the Division 1 Divisional cup. The Rochdale team managed a creditable 5th position finish in Division 2 of the Open League.

Congratulations also to Suresh Kumar, Janet Bailey, Georgina Haigh, Kath Gorner, Joanne Schofield and Simon Sack for inidividual successes in the Leigh tournaments.

The end of the season looms and we find ourselves in a number of strong positions: The Leigh team have secured their future in Div 1 with some strong results and have also made it to the final of the Divisional Cup. The Whitefield B Team are still top of Div 3 and are looking good for promotion and after the Whitefield A Team are storming up Div 2 and have an outside chance of getting promotion to Division 1! The end of season dances for Whitefield and Leigh are both on Friday May 6th - looks like we're going to have contingents going to both and tickets are available if anyone would like to come along.....

Another month goes by and no updates - sorry everyone. The season is starting to mount to an exciting end: it's nip and tuck at the top of Whitefield Division 3 between the B Team and Middleton C (crucial match coming up this Tuesday) and the A Team have put in an unbeaten run since the New Year. Third place in Division 2 is a real possibilty for them now. The Leigh team also continues to make good progress, hopefully with enough of a cushion to guarantee safety in Division 1.

It's almost the middle of February, and the Whitefield B Team are not only undefeated, they're through to the final of the Hughes Cup. Finals day is Sunday 20th March, so good luck everyone! Another great victory for the Whitefield A Team last night too - well done everyone.

Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a hectic few weeks. The Whitefield B Team still remain unbeaten - can they maintain this until the end of the season? The Leigh Team are at last making inroads, having won their last two matches and the Whitefield A Team are carving out some great results too.

Another great win for the B Team: 15-3 against Oakgate. Things are looking good for promotion, and there's still a cup semi-final to play. Leigh team members please note there is now a firm date for the outstanding GMT fixture - please see the fixtures section.

It was good to see so many back last night, including one or two new faces. Please note a change to the Leigh fixtures - the GMT match is Monday February 14th, not the 17th as initially posted.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a good Christmas. We're back this week, January 5th - it's time to start losing those excess pounds again!

I expect there will be some sore heads around the Whitefield and Bury area this morning (plus a very well off taxi driver after our marathon drop off). Pictures are now up for all to see here - no names have been changed as there is no one innocent to protect!

Apologies again for the delay in updates. The Whitefield B Team remain unbeaten and still in the cup; they are currently top of Division 3 too. Promotion looks like a real possibility - let's hope they can keep their record going. The Rochdale Team are encountering mixed results, but what is essentially a new team is certainly holding its own. The Whitefield A Team are also encoutering mixed success, holding their Division 2 mid-table position. The Leigh team are, unfortunately, bottom of Division 1, although they have played a significant porportion of the tougher games this year. Hopefully they can claw their way back in the New Year - tomorrow night's fixture against Daten is the ideal opportunity to get some more points on the board.

Finally, don't forget this year's Christmas do at The Jewel In The Crown, Bury, on Saturday 11th December. Pictures to follow, and that's with or without the consent of those photographed!

Apologies for the delay in updates, but it's been a really busy few weeks. The Whitefield B Team are still unbeaten, even after a close encounter with Middleton C and the Whitefield A Team have managed to notch up their first 18-0 whitewash. The second round Whitefield cup draw has been made and the B Team have been drawn against Middleton D away on Tuesday 16th November - good luck everyone!

A busy couple of weeks have passed with lots of league games and Whitefield cup week. Unfortunately the A Team were knocked out by Middleton B (only 29 points in it when the handicap was applied), but the B Team are through, albeit it with a bye. Lots of games on next week for Whitefield and Rochdale - good luck everyone.

Unfortunately Saddleworth C have been withdrawn from the Rochdale League - this means that two fixtures have been removed from the schedule, the first of which was to be next Wednesday, the 29th. The Leigh match from that night that was down for being rearranged can now be played.

The B Team have now played 2, won 2. No one would want to tempt fate, but could this be promotion form? The Leigh League fixtures get under way this evening with an incredibly tough clash at Daten and Rochdale kicks off next Friday. Matches are still being rescheduled so please keep a watchful eye on the fixtures.

We're back in full swing, and the matches are underway. Well done to the B Team: played 1, won 1 - 12-6 against Forrest. For anyone that doesn't know, we also have a Facebook site up and running - simply search for Heys Badminton Club and sign up.

We're back, and getting ready for the new season. It's good to see all the existing members back and also very encouraging to see some new faces too. Club night is currently from 7:00 to 10:00pm. Once the season starts, start times will depend on the number of matches taking place each week - please keep an eye on the website for more details. Leigh League fixtures are also up here, although please see the note regarding rearrangements.

Well the season is finally over and we're well into the summer, practising and formulating teams and partnerships for next season. Final team standings were as follows:

Also congratulations to Janet Bailey, David Travis and Georgina Haigh who all won awards in the Leigh open tournament.

Unfortunately we are going to have to withdraw our C Team from Whitefield Division 3 due to lack of ladies, but we will be putting a new team into the Rochdale Open League next season which will allow more match play for the men.

Just to reiterate our summer opening times, we are open from 8:00-10:00pm; our last night will be Wednesday June 30th. We will return at 7:00pm on Wednesday August 18th - please note the new start time.
